if you dont have an epirb you cant go out to the five unless you stay within a certain range between freo and rotto. but if you got one you would certainly be able to fish the five with a 4mtr.just gotta pick your days

Well worth the money irrespective of how far you go offshore. Otherwise as Russ said.

All the way back to England

All the way back to England ................ with your spray cans !

Hehe, but seriously - yes, plenty go out wide - just pick your days, have the appropriate equipment and use your head.

If all else fails, then refer back to Option 1.

Pom,

Hit this link and select your area, then have a read of these publications they tell you what you can/can'tt do and mandatory equipment etc.

http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/imarine/19128.asp#RegionalBoatingGuides

However if you buy nothing else get an EPIRB it may save your bacon

Oh and I assume that you have a recreational Skippers Ticket? These are mandatory.

Cheers

Howdy When I lived in Perth

 Howdy

When I lived in Perth I would launch my tinnie at point peron. Once the summer patten sets in I would head out with the easterly and come home with the sea breeze. That way no banging into the chop. Caught plenty of good fish of the back of the five fathom bank. Dhus, snapper etc

Used to regularly fish and scuba dive from the above tinny both inside and outside FFB ..............just pick your days, beach launch from inside the Sound (we used to launch from the small beach adjacent to the road to GI) and, like another poster has said, go out with the easterly and home with the first whiff of the sea breeze

A decent small digital sounder is a must. .............
