75cm trout

unfortunately, this trout isn't mine. it was caught by a mate who is useless, but is a jaggy prick. on this particular day he hadn't fished for about an hour as he was crook, then dropped a line over and pulled this up. half of a fillet fed me and my wife comfortably

i am posting it as there was a query in another thread re what a trout of 75cm would weigh. this one was 75cm and went 6.5kgs on a set of scales that we had on board. how accurate they are i can't comment on, but that's what it said.

so what do you reckon? is the scale right or not???

Well i know of an 86cm one which went 8kg's so it seems pretty accurate,

We had some guy who had never fished before and had come over form England and hooked a nice size dhuie first drop,

He had no idea why everyone was looking at him jealously, then announced "are they good eating or something?"

I weighed a 53cm trout on the digital scales at work this morning and it went 2.12kg in good condition, but an empty stomach.  We are weighing all our other trout broodstock tomorrow and have a solid male in there that's 8kg+.  I will try and get some measurements of him and a photo or two as well.  Regardless, still a bloody good fish!

top fish! beautiful looking to the big bar cheeks (any big trout for that matter!) when they light up....

biggest ive shot went 86cms and about 7.5-8kgs so i rekon your weight wouldnt be far off! depends on the condition of the fish tho and that one looks in good nick!
