Need our own public drive on

Need our own public drive on groyne with many more disabled ramps for convenience that also wont get shut due to weather/conditions

Sadly getting funding for such an undertaking would be a miracle

 I know about the boulders

I know about the boulders mate, there is a barrier blocking the road to it and a sign saying AME private property at the moment. I went into AME which is the business that now owns the land and they said a proper fence is going up very soon and cameras and sh!t. I wasn't happy due to it being a good spot

They blocked the groyne off

They blocked the groyne off years ago. The council was sick of cleaning it up. Big fight over who was responsible.

Must have been Woodman groyne. We went down there. There was a gate. No one allowed to drive out. ASI is very close.

I dont fish there much buuuuut, Its where we had 'another' fishing clean up filling the truck up this time.

Took a drive down there this

Sat, 2014-06-21 19:22

Took a drive down there this arvo. They've put those plastic barriers across the road with a sign saying no access private property.

One was already moved to the side so someone must of been down fishing.

Im surprised they can say its private property. They wouldnt own the road and the rock wall would be council or government property surely. I would challenge it if confronted. Not that you would be as l dont think ut would be policed much.

The way all these good fishing spots are being closed to the public is a major piss off. My biggest bitch how our shitbags government pulled down two of the best fishing platforms in WA being the old Palm Beach and Rockingham jetties. These bastards seem to say if it's old and needs a few quid spent on it, pull it down. Stuff the fishing public how long before all the platforms sticking out into the ocean are closed forever?

Not long at all

if this government can charge invalid people who park in ACROD parking bays at Charlie gardener hospital they are not going to spend a single dollar on maintaining some thing from which they don't gain any revenue.

Yeah I agree holth, there is a rock down there with a plaque saying it was opened by some former deputy premier. It will be another good fishing spot we lose if does get permanently blocked off. We should go to the media and have a winge to see if it can change anything?

This is where rather than an rbfl we need a statewide license with all funding being reinvested back into the sector.  When the next round of expenditure comes out people need to put in requests for this sort of thing.

ASI = Requests for tenders

Sat, 2014-06-28 18:10

ASI = Requests for tenders were issued in August 1984, and the contract was awarded to Australian Shipbuilding Industries (ASI), who had designed a small vessel
