Bad Tailor fisherman

Can someone help please!!!

I have come to the conclusion that I am a crap at catching tailor from the shore. I like to think of myself as a fair fisherman at most species. Plenty of fish  from boats and shore but when I target tailor from the shore I suffer like the Dockers. Have caught them to a good size out on the reefs, Shark Bay but am useless off a metro beach.

Plllleeeease help me

The way all these Animal @$$wipes keep taking them undersized by the bucketload.

In a few years, youd think tailor was a swear word in a non english speaking languageWink...

Keep trying mate!

Keep trying mate!

It took me a long time, a lot of lost rigs, and plenty of trail and error to finally land my first tailor.

It used to annoy me so much when everyone else around me was landing them and i wasn't. I wouldn't say im experienced, but a lot wiser after learning from my mistakes. ...and others' success!!

I just kept going to the same place and kept an eye on how others were catching them. Bait, rigs, conditions, time, etc.

Keep trying though, because i felt exactly how you do. I now cherish every tailor (size or not) i catch as if it were my last.

Be ther at the right time

This year has been quite a good year with numbers and size up. The trick is to be there when they run (and a run can sometimes be over in a matter of 30 mins). Just before daylight is the time to start and an hour before and after dark in the evening. Rigs don't matter that much. If they run they run. Moving bait is by far the most effective.

do a search in this forum or you could click on my name and track some of my posts. There's always discussion about tailor fishing and i've also shared some of the info on targeting tailor. I'd tell you what thread if i could remember lol. Its not too hard. Come see me at the store (oceanside) and i'll give you a hand on what you need to know. This coming week, i'll be there on the weekend. Might even head out for a fish with ya after i knock off or sometime midweek. Good luck mate.
