Beware Telstra Scam?
Two Cons in one day Bugger.....
Hi Everyone,
Please read below and pass on to your family & friends.
I got a call last night from an individual identifying himself as an Telstra Service technician who was conducting a test on our
Telephone lines.
He stated that to complete the test I should touch nine(9),zero ( 0), hash (#) and then hang up.
Luckily, I was suspicious and refused. Upon contacting the telephone company, I was informed that by pushing 90#, you give the
Requesting individual full access to your telephone line, which allows
Them to place long distance telephone calls billed to your home phone number
I was further informed that this scam has been originating from many of the local gaols/prisons.
DO NOT press 90# for ANYONE. PLEASE pass this on to your friends.
If you have mailing lists and/or newsletters from organizations you are connected with, I encourage you to pass this on

Which is the Scam?
I'm curious if the OP is genuine what copper provides full contact details on the ineternet?
Is this an attack on the genuine cop who has those details or an attempt tp get some low lifes(not any fishwrecked supporters) to bombard the police station with nasty emails?

Oddly, I was just reading something on "Cap'n Crunch" yesterday.
Beware of the real Telstra scam going around: If you sign up to a phone or internet plan with them, they'll scam you out of tens of dollars a month compared to what you would be paying for an alternate plan elsewhere

i just tried to cancel a redundant mobile account - good luck unless you speak Hinglish ( Hindu English ) took a bloody week of frustration. Don't believe being out of contract doesn't mean they won't continue to bill you - and finally message bank - despite what the mongrels say some voice messages come in days late - and your screen prompts you call message bank as you have a new message - you dont but the buggers cop a call charge. It's worse with their Internet service though, as unbelievablle as it sounds.
