Which rig works best for you, when you can't hold bottom in 2.5 meter swells plus??

If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Normal bottom bashing rig..
Normal bottom bashing rig.. just keep it unlocked and feather ya line with ya thumb... hopefully its a short drift or just wind back in some line and drop n start again... seems to work for me... use a pretty big line angle

More lead
Drop your sea anchor / drogue in to slow the boat down and if that doesn't affect it add more lead until you feel the odd bump on the bottom instead of continually dragging along it
The other way is to go down to lighter / thinner diameter line for less drag.

As above
I do the same as the above sugestions. Only thing i could add is to trim down your bait sizes too, to reduce drag. I have caught many big fish on the lighter gear with smaller baits .

Fish like the line moving up
Fish like the line moving up and down If it quiet I will often wind up 3-4m so the lazy fish under the ledge sees it move and comes to have a look. Swell works the same way.

Why not jig when the swell is
Why not jig when the swell is big. Eliminates the swell issue and holding bottom altogether.

I do John , I was just wondering how other's fished a bait in those conditions.
I try a driftbait if conditions are suitable , but if not, more lead is the key to the bottom rig then.
