Bottom bouncing/ deep sea rod
Submitted by Blacked Out on Sat, 2014-12-13 17:28
Hi guys, looking at a new deep sea overhead rod. I already have a couple of the cheaper shimano rods (bcf combos) but looking to upgrade to something a bit better. Any ideas?? Budget up to around $300.00
Cheers

Can't go past the Wilson
Can't go past the Wilson live fibre IMO 15-24kg good quality rod well within your budget.
Had mine paired up with Tyrnos 30's great set up.
Love the West!

TCurve
Could try a TCurve 200 or something similar.
Much lighter to hang on to all day as well being a jig rod.

T-Curve Deep jig 200 is a good option. I use one for bottom bouncing and ok for jigging as well.

I've got plenty of heavy gear
I've got plenty of heavy gear 10-15kg etc but now I rarely use anything over 8kg r, rods.
I still fish heavy braid on strong reels but I like the 5-8kg maybe a tad heavier with soft tips.
I just don't enjoy big gear anymore.
Not had anything I cant stop yet on an 8kg rod, that's down south anyway.

Yeah i got a Fishing wa
Yeah i got a Fishing wa overhead jig rod. PE3-5. I used it for some bottom bashing up in coral bay and it was nice. Resposive enough to feel all bites and powerful enough to set the hooks and pull some big fish from the depths.
I would buy another one if i needed it.

Another vote for the T-Curve
Another vote for the T-Curve 200.
Another option would be Jigging Master Ocean Devil.
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
