Bream reel
Submitted by Hicko on Thu, 2010-06-10 13:43
Hey guys, in thinking about retiring the stradic and investing in a better quality spinning reel.
The reel will be mostly used for bream and flatty fishing. My budget is around the $350 mark
and Shimano or Daiwa would be my preference as far as brands go.
Any thoughts would be appriciated
Cheers

The new Certates look good but are a bit above your budget
What about a Daiwa Heartland. They are great little reels.

Or maybe a Diawa Teirra, Good reel (I use one for whiting and light fishing salmon etc) plus give you a little spare change towards a good rod to match

Not too sure on the rod weights
Not sure on the rod weights, but I know Brenz has numerous Bream outfits. I think he has 2 Shimano Stradic Ci4's 1000's on two rods. One for Placcy's and one for hards. Maybe he might have some input as to what rod to match these reels with. See previous post by myself some 2-3 weeks ago titled Spin vs Baitcasters. Brenz makes mention of what Bream outfits he has.
