Busso crab scooping advice
Submitted by Ben Derecki on Wed, 2011-01-19 07:56
Hey guys just chasing some advice on scooping crabs at night in Busselton at the moment. I've been trying around the southern Busso beaches and haven't seen too much, done some snorkelling recon too and it's pretty dry.
Is this the wrong area or is it the wrong time of year? Some of the posts I searched before I left indicated it would be a reasonable time of year.
Would appreciate any advice on improving my catch count... Cheers

Hi Ben
Fished around Quindalup a few weeks back and there was heaps in the shallows. Not huge but they are there. Just wade around with a good light/headlamp at night or even just stand on the boat ramp and spot them close enough in to scoop.
Good luck.

Wonnerup
Try near the boat ramp at Wonnerup, it usually produces at this time of the season A good light as Pezdog suggests can make all the difference.

Not sure where
you mean by 'southern busso beaches'? Geo bay runs east-west
As Carnarvonite said Wonnerup is a good spot to try, even has 4x4 beach access. I've had some success around Abbey to Siesta park of late, being my local stretch. Not huge numbers but always get a feed.
