camping at warra/quobba

starting to think about next years trip north, just after some advice/opinions. When we go camping we like to be by ourselves, light a fire and that sort of thing. Had a quick run down to the northern part of warra when i was in coral bay earlier this year and it was overrun with caravans :(

so basically wondering if you can get a (mostly) secluded campspot at warra/quobba. will be looking to go about the last week of june-first week of july. Are you allowed to light a campfire? assuming u need to bring own firewood if u can?

lastly we might have a dinghy, mite not, so what would be the best option if we're restricted to landbased? alot of questions i know, thanks in advance. vince

there are not alot of places to camp away from people around quobba as it is owned by a station and most the area is non camping apart from point quobba caravan park quobba station and red bluff witch are all top spots you can buy fire wood at the station and they have fire pit there to but you have to pay to stay and it can get quite busy if you do decide to stay around this area and take a tinny id recomend red bluff as its probably the best and at times the only place to launch one but land base fishing and boat fishing is bloody teriffic not sure about warra as ive not been there

the lagoon end at warroora (southern end) is a more spread out area and you dont get caravans down there as the track is pretty soft you get camper trailers but mainly campers you can launch a dinghy from the beach just gotta be carefull not sure on lb but when we were last there we stayed at the northen end 14mile beach which is full of grey nomads the beach fishing and fishing of the rocks produced some good emperior for us and with the dinghy we did well on the back of the reef when we could get out there massive reds spangos trevally tuna and macks. camp fires were ok but you had to bring your own wood.

not sure on quobba but from what i have heard the lb fishing is pretty good.

cheers
