i have been getting a few out on the southern flats but if you want bigger ones hit the reef structures up north of carnac fish the sand around them! i use a running sinker to a three way swivel then two size 2 or 4 long shank hooks!

Was out on friday on the inside of Garden Island getting a feed of squid and were picking KGs up every time we crossed from the sand to the weed - fish the edge. Most fish were 33-35cm.

Thumper KG's from Busso.

If you get some time, head down to Geo Bay. Caught 11 KG's on Thursday/Friday with all of them over 46cm. Released 10 Pinkies that would have  been legal before the size change (shows that it's working). I also saw what appeared to be a wetliner in the bay with a holding pen for the snapper. Can any one confirm this is what is going on (keeping the Pinkies until Christmas when they will have grown to size). Will they still breed in one of these holding pens?
