No such thing as a stupid
No such thing as a stupid question. How else would we learn? But unfortunately the answer is no. Cray pots weigh probably more than your kayak and even if you could paddle it out far enough to a good spot, you would not be able to pull it out of the water. Sorry mate. In answer to your third question though, you can get crays reasonably close to shore if there is a reef there but generally you will find them further out ie) the 3 mile.
I fish for the future - Cause I can't bloody catch anything!

Might have a hard time
Might have a hard time pulling pots on a kayak aged 14. Its a bit late, the crays have gone deep anyhow.

If you are keen and someone was watching you from shore.
You can buy small Cray pots now that you might be able to handle in a kayak. Mindarie has a reef just as you exit the marina on the right.
You can actually walk on it from the shore. All be it a couple of years ago my brother caught crays dropping pots off the edge. There were pots there again this year but its been very quiet. Never the less crays have been there before.
There are pots also just off the groyne but go early morning and with someone. They are getting a few there.
