we fish with Clint (Feral) a fair bit, he has one. Seems alright except for the stuffed roller bearing. I personally wouldn't pay retail for one.

Ok,His reel is brilliant

Thu, 2011-09-01 15:51

Ok,

His reel is brilliant (having picked it up a few times to play with it myself I have a few thoughts on it). He has many many outfits (including both stella's and saltiga's) that he could use instead but it is his go-to outfit.

He has the reel on a demon blood rod and the two match brilliantly. The reel is light and very comfortable as well as smooth and reliable with plenty of drag. The roller bearing would be a very simple cheap fix but it doesnt worry Clint (unlike the rest of us that are not as used to hearing the clatter it makes). It is definately no big issue.

I myself would buy a smaller model for a PE1.5-2 outfit if I could afford it. Right now I am stuck with what I have but I would def say they are reasonable value for money in the smaller range gear.

I hope this is of some help. With the above comments I had just read one of your other posts (in the for sale section) and almost said something there. One more thread was enough to bring the old keyboard warrior out :)

Edit: just been informed it is on a Eupro (sp) twincraft the demon blood is his light O/H rod....Too much gear that boy

Certate Hyper in my opinion

Thu, 2011-09-01 16:28

Certate Hyper in my opinion isn't classed for PE3 braid. I had a Hyper 4000 for a few years and serviced it a few times as bearings did fail

I'd be more inclined to go the 2010 Salti 4000/H, i went down this path and haven't looked back since. This reel has well and truely been through its paces and still feels good as new, keeping in mind these reels are fairly new on the market.

Clint bashes into some

Clint bashes into some massive fish with his reel and it is still smooth as silk. I think he runs PE3...not sure though

I have one, and absolutey

I have one, and absolutey love it.  I have PE3 on it.  For light jigging, bottom bouncing it hasn;t missed a beat.

It feels tough as nails IMO, and it has slayed a few big fish at the Montes and other places up north

just one thing

it states in your gear you are using a Daiwa Hyper Custom Certate 2500?

surely you would be able to pass on advice as the only difference would be the size?
