Deep drop

Looking at heading out wide on Thursday and maybe going for a deep drop aswell as the weather is looking good, has anyone been getting much out that way recently and does anyone know what the currents are like at the moment.

Cheers

Bryce,

Whats the theory with the moon?

I have been deep dropping a few times, we did well just before the full moon, and then horrible just after it.

Any advise will be welcome.

Cheers

Super Deep Info

The current has been good but it can change from spot to spot also. If its too fast then go to another spot ie shallower or deeper.

Fish have been getting caught out there and we dont worry about moon phase or tides.

When are you going to hold a deep drop night to tell people what to look for on their sounder and how to rig for it.

So we got out on Thursday,

So we got out on Thursday, not too much in the way of current, even with the wind, I would say about 7kt average and with the sea anchor out we were averaging about 1.2 kt drfit.

didnt catch much, ended up with 6 green eye sharks, after a few drops decided to call it quits, the back and arms were aching from the manual winding.

Moved into a couple of the wrecks with not a lot showing but managed a 73cm pinky and some solid skippy out of 100m so it wasn't a complete loss. Plus it beats working

Out deep the sounder was showing something but not a strong return, had a couple of what I think were good returns, but not 100% sure what I was looking at
