Filling in my Pool

Not that fishie but thought I might seeks some advice/opinions.

I have a very nice pool in the back yard but it hardly gets used and I spend way too much time keeping it maintained. A large batch of surrounding palms continually pollute the pool so we are thinking that maybe we should fill it in. The palms are too big for an old bloke like me to tackle and the cost of clearing them is quite high.

Has anyone done this? Does anyone know of a good designer who can sketch out a plan? Basically, my idea is to leave the pool in the ground and turn it into a landscape with a water feature or something like that.

Cheers,

Is it a fibreglass pool or a cement one?

If its a fibreglass pool there are companies out there who will pay you $$$ and they will come and remove it and back fill your hole.

other wise good luck i did it to a big fish pond at 1 of my old houses and we didnt use it as a feature we just filled it in put plenty of holes in it and then filled it in.

there might even be someone on here who does landscaping.  put up an ad.

And I will give the plug John.

As for decking over the pool that's not what we have in mind. The change will be permanent and the pool will be no more. Done! Gone! Finito!
