Are you sure
A blackbanded sea perch has 6 bands, yours only has 4?

Fish I.D.
Hi tayler marc, I have a book titled Sea Fishes of Southern Australia, by Barry Hutchins and Roger Swainston, and on page 50 and with the photo number 227, describes your fish down to a tee. The name is a Black-Banded Seaperch, it very from other banded sea-perch by only having 4 cross band on the body, versus 5-7 on others. also the bands may be either black or red.I hope this helps.
