It's usually best to have a flatty sesh late in the arvo but you can still pick them up all day. My PB Flatty came smack bang in the middle of the day casting from Claremont Jetty. Try to concentrate your efforts around the drop offs more as that is where alot of flathead hold during the lower water periods.

I fished the sandflats at Pt Walter for a couple hours after low tide yesterday (7:50am). Dropped one flattie, caught a 30cm one that went back and spooked a 50cm+ fish in ankle deep water. Not bad for using a bream lure (35 Scorpion)

First lure caught fish in the swan for me

Congrats on your first swan flatty on lure cryline. Bream lures work fine for flathead. My favourite flatty lures are also my fav bream lures. Used to be that I liked the Manns 5+ & things that size but now I find the 30-50mm hardbodys that I use on bream to be far more productive.

Only the one flathead caught at 38cm in knee deep water at about 11am, kept it for a feed but there's lots of very off putting worm/parasites on/in it....might give it a miss thanks swan river
