Furuno GP 7000 GPS

Hi all.

I have one of these and was hoping I could get some help on transfering waypoints from PC to GPS and visa-versa. I dont want to sit in the boat all day and add co-ordinates via the gps and was told that there was a program that I could get off the net that could be used on PC to do this. Any help appreciated.

You will need a 512MB SD card, they are hard to find these days but I got a few on Ebay.  You will also need an SD card reader, can get on ebay also.

Here is the software I use http://www.gpsu.co.uk/

I really just use it now to backup the unit these days.

Can you plot your route on the the Pc the night before.

And also does that program let you add waypoints via the computer. (Not all do apparently)

If you want to display the chart and plot courses on the pc you may have to use "PC Planner". GPSU will allow you to back up and edit the waypoints.
