gold coast/port douglas charter

gday guys

family member has moved to the QLD recently. planning a visit sometime this year and as always keen to hit up the fishing on offer one of the days. will be visiting both port douglas and the gold coast.

due to time constraints would only be able to get on board single day charters, but keen to hit up most game species eg. kings, tuna, dolphinfish, cobia, trevally etc etc

does anyone know if this fishing is accessible by single day charter up that way?

had a look on google and other places and there seems to be quite a few charters. can imagine being a popular tourist destination there would be a fair few average ones so just after opinions/experiences of any good charters to point me in the right direction.

cheers

Fishing Charter GC

I've been on BK's fishing charter 2 times (http://www.bksfishing.com.au)  once in summer and once in winter.  Pretty cheap $90 out at 6am in at lunch time.  Within 20 min fishing, using ganged mulies as bait.  Half the boat bottom bashes from one side and the other side drifts out un weighted bait.  the summer charter was good the boat caught 3 small marlin, my brother boated a small marlin about 40-50 kg.  All from within 7-8 km from shore.  Good fun apart from myself not catching anything decent!

Went out with this guy here: http://www.fishingportdouglas.com.au/outabout.html

was a pretty average day with few mangove jacks and couple of trevally landed and a barra hooked but lost due to my  own stupidness. but fish sometimes bite  and sometimes they don't and this bloke was trying hard and was an overall enjoyable day. were fishing inshore and in the river a few k's north of town, tried everything, bait, lures and flies

can't remember the price, I think it was something round 400 for 6 or 7 hours, was 6 years ago.

worth it

cheers
