led light bars come in all shapes and sizes

Sun, 2014-08-17 16:30

They vary in light output. A 120w chinese bar will not get close to a 'quality' 120w bar in light output.

You can buy the cheap chinese type on ebay.

If you have the $ buy a bar like the 20 inch E2 Series hydra spot or the 20 inch E2 Series Combo made by Rapid Industries sold by Snake Racing.

Awesome light output. Check them out on you tube.

Make sure you make it theft prove cause they tend to get knock off.

There is no 'real' LED spot

Sun, 2014-08-17 19:46

There is no 'real' LED spot as far as i am concerned. You will never get the range of HID.

Having said that i have a 32in ironman spot lightbar installed on the top of my Jeep and i love it. Best thing ever especially on the beach and 4wd tracks.

Not sure if the rules have changed lateley but they are illegal unless you put a 50mm opaque strip in the middle of the to simulate 2 lights(stupid i know but yeh). There was a bulletin on this but i cant find it.

"She bought a Jeep" yeh don't care!

I'm pretty sure

the length of those bars are governed too, dependent on the vehicle size. Can only be a certain percentage of total width.

Just found this PDF bulletin from QLD mainroads stating you no longer need the blanking plate but needs to be centrally located to front of vehicle.

Only click the link below if you want to download the PDF, its not a website.
