And a specific jig weight you need up to? You'll prob get 80-100g max at that rating. Cant remember the rods name, but Till has a PE1 rod that would be fine over 15lb that was verrry nice (from what i've used of it).

The Hearty Rise " Jig Force " 5'8 PE 1.5-3 (15-30lb) Max 120g jig

This is a great rod with plenty of light/fun action.

Normally $329 but we have a FW Special on at the moment so $289

Hope I have the right Jono

Ive just bought myself a xzoga taka si PE2 rod.  Its born to fish 20lb but theres some new PE2 lines out that break around 25lb that Im going for.  Probably bringing it up to exxy in july too....  Matching it with a stradic Ci4 (red decals on rod too)  Its main mission in life is to stonk dhuies but I can see my butt getting handed to me by coral trout over and over again up there with it...

JM 150

Do agree Simon, a great rod indeed and one we use ourselves for demersals (we use the Jigforce also)

We currently have the JM150 Spin on our Specials List (150g Spin 5'3  PE 1-3) Normally $629 on Special for $569 if that helps.

I have a Majorcraft Alexander

Tue, 2012-03-20 18:37

I have a Majorcraft Alexander PE1.5-3 and run aStella 4000PG with PE2, a perfect PE2 rod, best with 80 g jigs, can run up to 120 g max but really 100 g max is best, can run 60 g at a pinch.

I also have  a Jigforce PE1.5 - 3 overhead, run with a Oceajigger and PE3. Excellent rod, but definatley more a PE3 rod than PE2 and definatley too heavy for 15 lb, and really suitable for 120 g to 180 g max. No good with lighter jigs. I use it for light Sambo jigging and has handled up to 30 kg Sambos, and deep demersal jigging (50 m plus)  with 120-150 g, where is really shines. Too heavy for most demersals.

For 50-70 g and 15 lb (PE1 to PE1.5) I would suggest the Golden Mean Sable Dance.

If you want a rod that will not be as parabolic as the Synit or JM maybe the Phenix Titan Jigging TJX562L will suit. It shuts off at the foregrip with a similar action to the JM 3 kings special blanks. Yet to see one but hope to do an order in the not too distant future.
