6.5 Blade

Hi Mark,

The Blade is a friends boat. We went to Exmouth last year with it and from what I saw it goes really well. Dave has done several trips to the Montes with it but since moving to Darwin he has hardly used it. I just wish I had the spare cash haha

If its an Oceanic boat built

Sun, 2014-06-29 10:22

If its an Oceanic boat built by Woody it is a good quality boat. He stopped building a few years ago now. I have a 7.0mtr one and a couple of members here have them also, great handling boats that are built to last.

Hi Mark, not the same

Hi Mark, not the same business. Woody was a small operator in Balcatta that built the boats by himself. very fussy and high quality work. his boats don't seem to change hands very often. He still has Oceanic boats trading name the other is Oceanic fabrication

One of the guys on here got an Oceanic last year (jng?) and sounded very pleased with it.

I also had a look thru their factory at what they were doing and all looked pretty good, the workmanship seemed to be quite good.

I've got the oceanic 7.5

Sun, 2014-06-29 13:24

I've got the oceanic 7.5 hardtop, 6mm bottom. Very happy with my boat. A few other members have the same boat as me and they seem to be happy aswel,

Bruce has been building boats since 1992 I believe, he is still building so he must be doing something right pretty tough game lots of builders go under

Feel free to have a look at mine if you are in the area SOR

It was pretty funny Justin, when i went in there-"Bruce" isnt a very common Asian name Id think

He seems like a pretty good bloke though and very happy to just show me round and have a chinwag.

haha, na didnt think so

Couple of years ago camped in Coral Bay, the missus meets us at the filletting table and says a Japanese couple have moved in next to us.

When I get back to the site, I go to say gidday and he introduces himself as "Barry" or something like-just slipped out "that doesnt sound very Japanese"

They were from Melbourne and didnt speak to us again
