Is it worth buying the generic creepy spares from ebay or don't they last???

I have bought generic spares for zodiac & Creepy Crawly on ebay & they seem to last as long as originals.There is a good seller, I think called Perrys pool supplies on the east coast which are very cheap compared to shops in perth.
