PE2 jig rod recommendations

Right guys, need a recommendation for a light PE2 jig rod for my young bloke.....

I have got him a Tierra 3000 reel for chrissy, and was looking for a $150 PE2 jig rod for demersals, for 50-120 g demersal jigs.

What are the options in this price range?

John

Golden Mean Sabel Dance 2 if you can find someone going to Singapore! Technically its PE1, but you can treat it like a PE2 rod ;)

I'll agree to that. Nice crisp rod.

If you want something here and around that price, you could look into the eupro salty fighter or the twincraft. Not quite the same rods as the above (bit softer and shorter grips) but fit the requirements (though salty fighter may be a little light for 120g jigs)

PE 2 jig rod

As Hlokk mentioned, the Eupro Saltyfighter is a good option. Rated PE 0.8 to PE2.0 and 80gm jigs. It'll jig upto 100gm, more than that you won't be able to impart enough action into the jig.

The Eupro Twincraft is another option but a fair bit stiffer to suit 120gm jigs and can certainly work jigs upto 200gm.

Imo, the Saltyfighter is the best option of the 2 Eupro's and I got 1 left in stock.

Drop by anytime to check it out.

I wouldn't recommend the PE1 version. Get the slightly heavier PE2 version. You can jig up to 110g, but I reckon it'd be best suited to 80-90g jigs (which is perfect for our waters). Rob might get bricked now & then, but it's all part of the fun.

The lemax stormfire rods are in that price range and have a pe1-3  lure wt 40-160g model. I have a certate 3000 on mine and have landed some solid fish on it , but i haven't jigged with it yet, been using it for large plastics.
