Plastics

Went out for my first ever lure only session today, and it was really fun. I used the same soft plastics for the whole day, because they were doing well with the fish. But I didn't catch any but I do have proof. I got a very distinct bream bight on one of them, but didn't hookup, so I think I have my technique right.
my question is do you think these are bights from bream, blowies or something else? They were quite chewed up.
kingfisha also caught his first flatty, small (24cm) and when holding it he got a big cut, but it was still not a bad fish. All caught in the canning river. Kingfisha will post his flatty on this post later

Blowies. Keep it moving like gillyL said, if not softies become an expensive technique very quickly

Definitely blowies!
As mentioned, keep the lure moving, and use Zmans...they will still get chewed but you'll get a few more casts out 'em than normal placcies. Better still, use hardbodies if the fish are willing.
On another note, that guy making the NFL predictions is wrong. Dallas is having a good year but their quarterback has a back injury and it's a home game for the Giants, who've been playing better of late and should fire up for this match against a divisional opponent.

Yeah they're McCarthy ones I think. I count to 4 then get it moving again, is that too long?

Depends on how deep the
Depends on how deep the water is that you're fishing. You want the lure to sit on the bottom for a short period of time but not long enough for the blowies to get to it, so maybe not much more than a second or so on the bottom

Lachie, have you or
Lachie, have you or kingfisha tried the prawnstar lures / jigs to target flathead with? I have had some success with them and the blowies can't damage them (as much).

snipped tails
I was trying a lure only day last weekend off some rocks and had the same problem.
Blowies were onto it as soon as the placcies hit the water and bit the tails off rendering them useless. Switched to hard bodies pretty quick. Didn't catch anything but didn't lose any more soft plastics.
