shelter bay

Has anyone been in to shelter bay or steep in the last month or so. Wife and I are towing an off road camper trailer in to shelter bay behind a 100TD cruiser in 2 weeks time. Ranger said they had only had 8ml rain in the year so I expect track to be soft?. We haven't been beyond Tamala previously and that was smooth as.
Expect to be down to 12psi on all 6 tyres. Trailer will be under about 900-1000kgs so not a massive weight. Have spare spring set and U bolts but don't fancy changing them on the side of the track.
Are there little passing run offs on the track similar to Peron Peninsula as I expect to be going in around 11am just as others are coming out.
Thanks
Dave

Steep .
I havnt been in this year so I cant comment on the track.
But I don't think you will need to lower your tyres that much.
We went in around this time last year, towing a camper (around 1200kg loaded) with a turbo 3lt Colorado.
Had all tyres down to about 18psi and had no probs on the tracks.
We were following a 100 series cruiser with the same set up.
He also had his tyres around 18psi.
A few of the sections were cut up especially at the tops of the hills but we managed without stopping or back tracking etc.
Hope this helps.
Good luck & enjoy.
Cheers & Stay safe

Enjoy. Love that place. If you are up the wellard end of the bay there were plenty of squid in the weed just off the beach. The camp next to us were casting out to them from the beach.

Will not have a boat in any case. be shore fishing so can travel a bit in the cruiser if necessary. Thinking about taking the little single seat kayak but have been told big tiger sharks may cause change of jocks.

Tigers.
There are a few tigers that patrol the beach along there.
They are scavaging for leftovers from fish cleaning. Most folks clean the fish & take the remains back out to dump them in deeper water, but they seem to follow the blood trail in close.
If you are land based, then take a walk west just past Wellard until you get to the sandy point.
The channel is at its closest there & a medium cast will get you into some fishy water. The moving tide should give best results
Good luck & enjoy.

Plus one for that sandy point channel. We have drifted that before when the wind was really blowing. Mate got a 50cm black snapper withing casting distance off the beach.

Agree with the tyre pressure
Agree with the tyre pressure mentioned above, 18psi should be low enough,
I am up there next week for my 43rd trip to wonder land....
