The weed banks came across the first pod and

smacked a couple !! Had a decent shark Mack

busting up some gars !! Had a quick troll in close

then plonked the anchor for some whiting !!!!

All in all good day and Finnished off with some

Mon, 2016-01-04 07:40

All week it had looked fantastic for a trip to rotto with the Mrs and 2YO kiddo...until yesterday morning. Meteye even on Saturday night was on the juice as it suggested north westerly, north of Fremantle in the afternoon which would have been fine also. Boat is a 6m centre console with absolutely no protection other than from the sun.

Still headed across though it was just a little choppy with it white capping before we got to the rock. Had to go around to narrow neck to find a bay that was protected and wasn't full. Deemed the angle better to head to Fremantle via an anti-clockwise trip around west end.

Putted at around 6 knots with lures in the back to get through the bouncy stuff until I was around the corner and due to the washing machine of chop, I could only do 14 or so knots. Took an hour and a half to get back in with the little one asleep the whole way.

Willyweather has been a shocker for the past week... Forecasting high winds when there's been nothing! Now there's a massive difference between seabreeze and willyweather for tomorrow's forecast?!?

I look at SB, WW and tides4fishing, and I look at all 3 readings to see how they compare, usually works. But I usually use WW, which was shit the last week as above !

funny that

Mon, 2016-01-04 09:14

they all get their info from BOM and they are still 2 totally different readings. Anyone seee the 2 days of flat tide on seabreeze last week?

Its funny that if 2 say its sh1t and 1 predicts good weather you always go with the 1 in hope the other 2 got it wrong.Haha, thats how i roll.

And to the subject, I found it right for a change. Caught herring, gardies and "A" squid, just before the wind changed. Couldn't get another look after that.

Mon, 2016-01-04 10:38

Was out yesterday with John F off ocean reef

Wasnt too bad to be honest, was a bit of a southerly early, then it dropped a bit so we pushed right out, Played around with Sambos early on, with 3 or 4 way hookups on rats providing some entertainment

Then moved on chasing Tuna on metals and trolling some lures. Think we landed 4 nice SBT's and5 or 6 nice Stripies, with a few lost. Had a big 3 way hookup whilst trolling, one on a skirt and 2 shallow divers, all 3 pulled the hooks, couldnt believe it!@!!!

Didnt get another hit on the lures after that. Played around trying to find a few fish off the bottom, for a few baldies, BB, Flattie and other bits and piecese. Mainly new areas as the the marks we went too were quiet. Wind came in, but we still Mucked around.

Long day on the water but was a bit of fun! Truck loads of Tuna out there

Oooh you swine ;) well done mate. We've been into some of the bigger fishing and camping shops here and they have some pretty awesome looking jigs. We been amazed at all the older boats and motors here. I'm talking 70's Johnnos etc and they have a lot of the old auxiliary motors lol. But seeing some of the coastline I don't blame me. Of the newer rigs mainly stabicraft.

One thing for certain

Mon, 2016-01-04 18:22

At least on of them is wrong !

Wind finder and Buoy weather are both saying light and variable in the morning. We're probably going to give it a go, unless the morning forecasts really turn bad

Went out today

Tue, 2016-01-05 16:38

forecast was for south westerlys under 10 knots all day, wind was from north west right from get go and stayed from that direction all day. Hate fishing a nor west wind very rarely catch fish usually barrometer is dropping on that wind. Managed 3 keepers but nothing outstanding. Probably wouldn't have gone had the forecast been nor westerly.
