Spot Swapping

I picked up my boat yesterday which has two combo units but unfortunately all of the waypoints are between Wickham and Fortescue River and the other one has some spots around Denham. If anyone is interested in trading some spots I have for some Perth metro spots hit me up via pm. Happy to show proof that I only purchased the two units yesterday and didn't just make up some spots

I'm NOR but plan on also hitting up Freo, the Sounds as well as Mandurah.

Don't worry I definitely won't be on-swapping any spots I receive.

Are you saying , you bought a new boat and the previous owner didn't clear his waypoints off it?

Yeah. Guys at the yard said worked up north and apparently moved back to QLD after the mining crash so probably aren't much good to him.

They must be cracker waypoints. I am sure there is some unwritten rule being broken here...probably don't forget to clear your waypoints.

It might be a set up......the previous owner may have wiped all his good spots and put in a couple dodgy ones in case the new owner tries flogging them off? LOL

Isn't swapping someone else's way points without their knowledge worse than pining? If that's what's happening?

Nothing to get upset about

Wed, 2015-08-19 09:28

Honestly, if he bought it and they were on there then they are his.

Itd be like the old owner turning up "can i have the outboard back, i still want to use it"

If the old owner said heres the boat but the waypoints arent included then so be it.

Only Jack knows and only the one who gets them will know if they are shit.

Yeah...you probably right if you look at it like that
Just sounds a bit borderline to me. Using them would be one thing but passing them on is another I reckon........What if a local gave him those spots in confidence and he accidentally for got to clear them off before he sold the boat?
Only jack knows I suppose.

well in that case then Jack is a liar and you should maybe call him out on it.
Otherwise Id just take him at his word in the absence of any other evidence to the contrary and maybe leave him to it!

If he bought it, he can sell or swap any bit he wants so long as he didnt steal it.

"Nothing to get upset about" I think was your quote?

Im not calling Jack a liar or anything remotely like that....I'm not sure why you would jump to that conclusion and are way off the mark.

I'm simply questioning if swapping waypoints that you MAY have come across by accident MIGHT not me morally the best thing to do......in my opinion.

Relax

Hijacking a bloke’s thread and to cast aspersions “ might not be morally the best thing to do “.. either IMO

reading it again

Wed, 2015-08-19 11:07

"What if a local gave him those spots in confidence and he accidentally for got to clear them off before he sold the boat?"

But reading it again I see you were suggesting the seller "may" have got them elsewhere-my apology I thought you were suggesting Jack had done that.
But that is still supposition.
Similar to the old owner coming back and saying "sorry mate I borrowed the plotter off my mate, I want it back"

I just dont see any reason that Jack cant do something with them, they may well be useless though!
