Ive had some luck with the ecogear sx40, the minnow style plastics and halco twistys in 10g, where you aiming at hitting them? ive had most of mine is shallowish water which is great for soft plastics but i imagine you might have to beef the weight up in deeper water and depending on your tackle etc?

tailor lures (River)
hi mate , last year we did really well on smaller bream style lures (ecogear sx 40's , scorpion 35's etc) but this year the average size fish is a lot bigger (35cm+)and the standouts for us have been yo- zuri crystal minnows in the small size (110mm i think?) go see tim at bluewater morley, they just got a new order in of them, also they have some strada minnows which have been working well . cheers

SX40, SX48, Atomic Shad 40,
SX40, SX48, Atomic Shad 40, Atomic Shad 50, Stiffy Minnow & Cultiva Mira Shad have all done well for me in the river this year. Haven't tried the crystal minnow in the river yet but have done ok on it from the beach so wouldn't be surprised if they produce in the river to given the bigger than average fish we are getting at the moment.

Tailor on the feed will go anything
I have found a cheapy like the Smiling jack Minnow awesome in the cut at Mandurah. No need for a +$20 lure when using these.

If you can catch them on a richter plug, you can catch them on anything, its just type and colour for the conditions to improve your chances. Put more time into finding the fish than lure selection. Troll a variety to find out if one is better on the day, but usually I do that and they all hook up at once anyhow. I prefer surface lures for the visual strike excitement, but flashy or bright minnows with a rattle work better in dirty water, ie swan. The floating poppers I troll are still the first that goes out and my preffered
