trolling brackets out of rod holders

ages ago I saw a picture in a fishing mag of a trolling bracket (custome made) that came out of a rod holder and went away from the boat at 90 degrees.

I think for memory ryan did an article on the abroholos islands and there was a picture when they were trolling from a charter boat.  it may have even been whiteys boat.

can anyone help us with out with that photo or got any ideas,  i dont want to put out riggers on the boat and want to widen the spread a bit

cheers

They're called rod riggers!

There are other brands available and they tend to be cheaper than reelax.

getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.

Im not sure if it is just the picture or what, but it looks like the bit you stick your rod in is exactly perpendicular to the bit that goes in the rod holder?

Presumably this would make the rod sit directly horizontal or paralell with the water? Isnt there a risk then of it just falling out as the boat rocks side to side?

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

One day i'll lose a rod into the drink, and then start using them, but hasn't happened to me yet!
