Upgrading your own drag

i have done a quick search and couldnt find much.

i have just bought a shimano saragosa 18000F and am wanting to upgrade the drag washers to carbon. i have found some carbon washers on ebay from the states and woudl like to do it myself.
have many people done this themselves before. i have found one website which has some basic pictures and instructions.

let it be kown that i would take it to a tackle store but living up north i dont have that option in my town....

thanks

Look for schematics

  • Look for schematics online.
  • Get yourself abit of cals drag grease or run dry for more drag but slow startup.
  • shouldnt take longer then 5 mins in and out.

use cals grease and put the smallest amount on the drag..too much is no good,,super thin film just enough too leave a finger print mark

get the finest wet and dry you can get  800 grit and lap yr washers, that is draw figure 8 on the 'sand paper' to make sure u remove any burs on the washers if any there

when u take them out lay them out in an orderly fashion and replace similarly ortherwise the lil job will turn to poo and youl loose the order of washers etc

use this link to order , safe trusted site,,,ive used them to buy grease and variety of washers,,,,they are great
