Have e120w touch screen and just watched promo and it does have some more features so can you tell us where the leagues ahead of the raymarine can you run chirp trannis with it very little on the sounder side of things which to most of us is more important than playing with a chart

 Very pretty. Still doesnt

Mon, 2012-02-20 17:24

Very pretty. Still doesnt get you there any quicker or safer than a decent 2d plotter will though. Maybe one day when some klutz puts a sinker or jig through the screen we have now and insurance is paying

Load of bollocks IMO useless in anything but flat conditions and then you put salt and bait and shit on the screen then scratch it .Not a Great idea btw i LOVE furuno gear so not biased on brands at all.

Cant understand how or why

Tue, 2012-02-21 19:56

Cant understand how or why you would want to touch a screen with dirty hands in rough conditions i use Cplot with a ball mouse and it is very fast and keeps my dirty fingers off a screen there is no advantage its just a new way to market and sell electronics.New sounders with better resolution ,sure new chart mapping software ,yes faster computer plotting all good ideas. Touching a screen to zoom up and down wank value and its funny how people will go out and buy new this and that (not intended at tomcat) before fully understanding the gear they have, If your plotter is perfectly functioning all it is there for is a navigational aid thats it. A glorified compass If it aint broken why fix it .

I would  rather spend the money on better fishing gear to Catch fish rather than play around with computer screens?.

Fair point

That's your opinion but why do 90persent of the people us iPhone you can still use touch screen in normal mode if you wish and most times your hands are clean because you tend to wash them all the time after baiting up I must say after having one you will never go back and sometimes it's just nice to buy something new and oneday that's all there will be " not in my lifetime but maybe yours"
