Yardie Creek/ Tantabiddy/ coral bay help

Gday all,

I am fortunate enough to be going out from tantabiddy/ yardie creek in a 6 m ally plate boat in a couple of weeks. Just wondering if anyone has been up there recently and pehaps after a few tips as I am used to catching herring etc down south and have not much idea of fishing up that way.

Any recent reports on how the ramp is and can you launch in all tides?

Id be stoked to get onto some spanish mackeral or tuna. I have a tld20 with 30 lb mono and 10-15 kg rd, another rod with 30 lb braid and a penn slammer 760 on a 8-12 kg outfit. Do you think these'll do the job?

In terms of lures, I have a large scorpion in chartruse, a halco max 130 in silver/pink, redhead rapala magnum with metal bib, a couple of 20ft Xraps in light orange/yellow, and a sebile koolie minnow in brown mottled pattern 150mm. Would these be fine lures for trolling? I have upgraded to single hooks and better rings on all of them.I
What depth should i troll and is there a plan of attack or should I just go anywhere? My mate up at the Merrian islands said 15 m was a good start, but I have no idea for Tantabiddy.

I would rather get pelagics, but if there are none around, Id be happy to bottom bounce. Any tips on rigs/ depths/ what I should see on the sounder for this? do I need ganged hooks or will singles do and what size? I have bulk packs of Gama J hooks in 7/0 and 3/0.

Any help appreciated.
