90kg Dogtooth Tuna

90kg Dogtooth Tuna

My contact from Japan sent me this picture of this 90kg Dogtooth Tuna (weighed apparently) that was taken on a Marine Bait Ouka jig in 225g.

Cool little jigs, have a rustic kind of style to them but are blingy at the same time. Cant comment on the actions of them all at the moment as I have not tested them extensively yet but they sure do have a nice gallery of captures including some big ambers as well as asian bottom dwellers.

Cracker doggie!!

Mon, 2012-12-10 10:56

it was rejected as a world record. for a few reasons the main being it vomitted out its stomach contents minus a grouper and what ever was behind that. the one shot moments before this one was actually longer and thicker but threw up 40 pounds of rainbowrunner and so it ended up being 2 pound lighter

With the size of the doggy

Fri, 2010-11-26 07:27

And the smallish stature of most Asian men (apart from the ones that like wearing nappies) I recon the orange dude is the one that started the battle, got shagged and handed it over to the other poor fella.

80kg of anything is hard, but 80k of a steamlined chunk of living torpedo with red muscle (ie more O2 in the blood) means a kick ass ride. Any idea how long the war was Schecky.

Quick question

Fri, 2010-11-26 18:08

If this was a pic of a bloke lying next to or spearing a dead 90kg marlin would you all make the same comments?
These fish taste like crap and therefore are a sport fish and should be let go ASAP
No difference between a doggie and a marlin or sail
IMO

There's not much you can do

Sat, 2010-11-27 08:15

There's not much you can do when i doggie runs itself dead 99% of the time

Dogtooth Sashimi is probably the best seafood i've ever had.

What ever floats your boat, but i don't like eating crap. Never tried it to be honest

Mate I've caught a few

Tue, 2010-11-30 06:39

Mate I've caught a few doggies and generally they release well, most of the time they fight to the death so the esky is sometimes the only option.

Also by the way, not sure if you've tasted dogtooth tuna but it is one of the nicest of the fish getting aroudn with a beautiful light pink flesh that does well raw or cooked.

I'm no greeny but if people chose to kill a fish then let them, it isn't illegal and as long as it's within reason and gets used then go for it.

Those gloves he is wearing

Sat, 2010-11-27 08:47

Those gloves he is wearing are actually yellow, to match the shoes and wet weather pants.

He soaked them in chloroform to sedate the beast for some happy snaps,

Never fear it swam away, the lucky boy, albeit with a foggy head.
