Got spiked by a flathead in Dunsborough this year after warning the boys all day about the dangers lol. The pain was ridiculous to say the least for a good two hours. I feel for ya mate.
Not nice had one get me in 90m after 10minutes of fishing .Stuck it out for 6 hours then came in .Don't bother pissin on your self does jack shit .just makes you stink, tip hot water on out of the thermos still didn't help .Ended up in hospital the next day . Feel your pain,Good look with it .

If you don't have ready access to very hot water, piss on the wound. Its the next best thing to do.

Flathead?
Flathead sting isn't on the same pain scale as gurnards, cobblers and happy moments.
They certainly let you know what pain is all about.
Flathead, stingrays etc all make you bleed like there's no tomorrow though, must be something to do with the slime on the spine.

If a flat head gets you best thing for it is to rub it's belly on the area, takes away pain & stop bleeding a lot quicker

I had one get me while I was
I had one get me while I was trying to flick it off my hook with a set of pliers
It went all purple and bled all day, the pain is full on and persists for hours
kept fishing rest of the day, they're now known as troys favourite fish hahaha, everytime I get one it's get a mouth full
