Fishing 6/9 off scarbs

Fishing 6/9 off scarbs

After not being out on the water since 6th of August, my first mate Claire took a quick look at seabreeze and came in to wake the skipper at 0730. Its red babes, do you want to go fishing??  Gee.mmm.....hell yes!

After a few too many Sem Savs the night before, it took a while for the skipper to get up. We got to the ramp at around 9am, and were greeted by only another 2 boat trailers in the car park. I was beginning to wonder how bad it was going to be out there.

We went straight out and had a sniff around for some squid. But there wasnt any on the chew. The water was the greenest i have ever seen it today, and was maybe a bit to murky for mr squidly.

We then headed down in front of Scarbs to our whiting spot. They were on the chew big time, and after an hour had around 20 fish. There were around the 27cm mark. The skipper outperformed the deckie today, that so called "girlpower" stayed at home today.

Was nice of mother nature to put a show on for us while fishing today. We had two whales playing around us most of the morning. Poor fella had heaps of barnacles around his nose and eyes.

At 1145 it started to drizzle and looked like a bit of a front was coming thru, so we called it a day. Nothing like a short and sweet session out on the water!

Sounds like you had a top day on the water once you gut away from the maniacs at the Hillarys ramp.
