I went to paddle down to get into a nice turning position and just hit the lip and got airborne on the way down! lol and boy I was hurting!!! Ohhh yeah are you allowed to fish City Beach?
Literally I was like ohh shit shark but then I went under water to have a look and then school of salmon swam pass...That was good timing for the salmon cause I did'nt have my weapon with me.
Good stuff Jangles, your taking me back to my grommit days. Me and the boys used to lid at cities every morning before school, every arvo after and then in summer it was the night surfing. Goood gooood times. :)

Plenty of times Jangles. Night surfing was the best ever for heavy waves, no crew around and sucky barrels. Then everyone caught on and it lost its magic. I still go for a lid every now and then, but fishing is a priority. :)
Fishing is always an ANGLER'S first prioty mate, It's my first prioty too. When ever I go to Cottesloe for a board I usually take a two piece bream rod with me and place it in my bodyboard bag and when the swell is down I usually use small SP'S and catch Herring and Tarwhine off the groyne! Ohh yeah Adam, what type of board do you have? if I may ask.. Hope your still in the good old fashion way of lidding?

I find adrenaline the best thing in life.. But I guess surfing and boarding is totally different things mate. Boarding over 4ft is the best mate especially at The Box out the back of Rotto as I get massive air.

Anyone know the Surflifesaving racing boards the long ones about 8'10 and pretty thick the ones they use in Surf club competitions. well i have one and i can do the lonngest floaters and cutbacks, kinda hard cause there is no leash :O
yeah been lidding for over 25yrs now, not as much now, remeber the big old days at scarbs and triggs, moved to dunsb in 96 and surfed supers for yrs n yrs, box, margies etc, nowadays i take my sone out at smiths lol thats about it,i also used to skipp the rotto surf charters for a mate, heavy big waves back in the day, west end , chicken reef/radrs etc,

took him out to lano a few weeks back, back beach was smoking peaks,

Yanchep a few yrs ago I paddled out to some bommies where you could see talior. Jammed a few mulies up my wettie, grabbed my mates fishing rod and made my way out the back. 1st cast is nailed by a big tailor, it jumps a few times and bites me off. I lose my only set of gangs! I was spewin cause i had taken the wire trace off before paddling out:)
