Great fish to feed when diving. They are extremely fast. Actually fear them more then sharks (near nil aanyway) as they blend into the reefy structure very well. Have had a few spines in the wetsuit over the years whilst hunting for crays.
I call these a "sherbert cod" lol. Last time i went out on the turkey slapper with shag and sherbs the old fulla got spiked after i told him to be careful! Couldnt stop him winging for the next 5 hours! Good old scorpion king sherbert! hahahahaha

While on the sublect can anyone please give adivse to the quickest way to give relef for a sting on a scorpin cod/ Ive tried ice but that didnt work and ive also heard that you can rub it on there belly like with flathead.....but not to sure on that one.
Hot water (not hot enough to burn though) will lessen the pain...apparently, as never been stung myself. This treatment applies to most 'stinging' fish.
i been stung hurt at first then the pain went away... burns, depends if ure eleric or not i suppose some people swell up just like a bee sting relly maybe a lil worse
I am not 100% for this fish but as with cobbler, catties etc the best way to give pain relief for poison it to use the slime from the belly of the fish and rub it on the wound.

get alot of them in the
get alot of them in the shallow reefs and there fantastic eating but i dont bother filleting them nemore because i dont want get stung

They have a massive mouth
They have a massive mouth and normally can unhook them outside the boat with some pliers and a quick wriggle! Sh!t loads out 40m way.
