Lightish Tackle Dolly

Lightish Tackle Dolly

Went for a morning session today, out at 0600 back just after 1pm. Got into some Dollies hitting marlin lures. I was pretty excited when the drag started stripping, although dollies are always welcome I must admit I was a little dissapointed. Once I we got one in I put out a pink rictor jelly babe and it lasted about 15 seconds before being smashed. Great fun on lightish gear.

Only one strike if you could call it that. It missed the lure by about 1 and a half feet, took a bit of line and chaffed my leader but no hook-up. Next weekend......

Way north Macca. I'm living in Pohnpei right now, back in Perth early 2013.

What are you actually doing there. I presume the Mrs is a teacher (guess) but what is your role.

I'd love to be the passenger on this trip Neels, there would be a few more fishing posts by me if this was the case. I'm in the Australian Navy working with the Micronesian National Police on the Pacific Patrol Boats. Very interesting and challenging work with a great lifestyle to boot. Only 14 months left and I have to come back to Perth. To be honest I could live here for quite a while longer, it's awesome. But I am looking forward to diving for crays, diving for prawns, scallops and crabs in the swan, drift baiting dhus, jigging, deep water fishing, flatties and flounder in the Swan, casting for tailor, snorkeling for crabs, and seeing the in-laws.

Doesn't hurt me to say it - I couldn't ask for better in-laws. They go alright for old people.
