As my missus and both kids hated it and I thought it was some of the worst fish I have ever tasted . I done some on the barby and some in a beer batter fresh that night

I've wasted about 1000 liters of fuel

So far this season at the fads trying to get onto one of those.... Curious did you catch him using bait in a burley trail or trolling lures or skirts?

I'm with you Scottnofish

We got a similar size dolly on Saturday trolling SW of Rotto under some birds.  I wasn't a big fan of the taste either. The stomach was full of juvenile NW blowies, so I will probably throw them back in the future to keep eating the blowies!!

Nice

Nice one Neil. Dollys have been very hit and miss this year so far. We have had some good days then some quiet ones as well.

We went straight out to the wider FAD's South of Rotto Sunday morning and struggled to see any fish.

Quiet

Tue, 2013-01-22 16:03

Yeah surface action has died down as the current has swung back to running up from the south. Water is definately now cooler and doesnt look as good as it did. Not as much bait around as there was either.

We had gone looking for some YFT but ended up with a very quiet day out there.

Taste

Tue, 2013-01-22 17:10

Agree on taste mate have eaten them many ways from here and exmouth all on same day as they have been caught and all of them have tasted worse then the live herring used for bait...... Kept trying them as i was told they are beautiful but my family and friends all agreed Good fun to catch on light gear but ill leave them for others to eat from now on..
