That's a stonka mate. What gear were youn using. I can tell every time now when I hook a Pinky they are mental, that would've gone ballistic on lighter gear.
Spheros reel,30lb braid and a demon blood rod. Great fun on plastics and you can't miss the head shakes. Haven't used a bait for a couple of years for now, can't go past the plastics for all types of fish! Cheers

crasny1 i used to catch monster black bream when i was a young fella in perth. biggest went 3.5kg. my ol man told me you couldnt eat em back then. we'd get em on whole mulie and snelled 5os! only few of us knew about em back then then they got fished out!
