Quicksand!

Soft sand down there isn't it.
I usually sit at the lookout with binoculars and wait til I see at least one school before heading down there.

Light gear is awesome!

Shit yeah. Running down thru that sand gives me a beltin. By the time I hurl a lure out I'm puffin. Then you catch one, hurl it out again and your shaking. Then land another, So much fun huh...Yeh you get a hell view up there. Caught it down south. Otherwise check out the forums and that will tell ya SHAG

Pick Ya Fish

Mon, 2007-03-12 17:30

You can do it on 2lb but you really have to pick your fish. Was catching ones 3-4kg last year in the sound but when one of 6kg+ muscles the little ones out the way and takes the bait you,ve got no chance.

Yeah ill run the 2lb on a 6000 stradic so she can go as much as she wants! As long as theres no structure around. Cant see em pulling 400metres of line off the reel, but you never know i guess. Just have to wait and see.

Problem with 2lb is that it will pop if you get too much line out just from drag in the water.

yeah thats something i havent experienced with it yet! Havent ever had a fish run enough 2lb line out to be a problem. Caught plenty of tailor on 2lb and if they start to go alittle spastic and jump you have to be careful to keep it tight otherwise it just pings! Ill set everything to scale(drag, gear etc) and see what happens. The ones that were around last year would have wasted me with there size so if there like that again ill defently take the spare 6 and 10 pound combos again. No fun if you cant land atleast one. Cheers for the info and i just cant wait till they come.
