Toothfish reef Dhuies

Went out to toothfish reef yesterday and harvested the last couple of Dhuies
LOL. The little miss is a respectable 10kg fish. The big fella bottomed out our 16kg scales. Any guesses on weight? I was thinking around 20kg.

Can't help you with an estimate. I find photos make the fish look a lot smaller than they are in real life.

Got to be happy with quality like that. No idea how big that is, but certainly up around the very high teens / low twenties I'd say.
How long was it?

I'd say over 20 the head would weigh just under 10 kilo if that other duhie was 10 I knew I should of followed u out yesterday saw u cruise past us and my deckie joked and said let's go ping him we weren't keen on getting run over by the big rig though. Nice work finding the fish

Good on you for letting the females go too, there should be more like you around.
As most people who come out with us know, we do encourage fishing for the future but at the end of the day people pay the $ to come out and catch a fish to take home, so as long as it is within fisheries regulations they can take what they want.
After all if fisheries thought there was a problem with keeping females wouldnt they make a rule against it.

But obviously, we as the minority in this big debarcle of a debate, with the whole headf$#@ of the situation. Maybe even if its a minimal impact.
