My new boat has finally arrived
Hians hunter patriot crab hunter 1.4
Keen to get the patriot in the water the calls went out to goat and dalmatinac’s to come for run.
The plans were to hit the lower part of the river and get some mussels then when the sun had set for the night pack up the patriot and head up river for some crabs. I swung past rutars around 6.30 and we headed to dalmatinac and then to the river .We launched the patriot only to be greeted with the local water police who hovered around for a while, I think they were admiring my new boat or they were wandering how the 3 of us were going to get in it, but really I think they were waiting to see if we were going to put a dive flag up. After they moved on we hit the mussel zone plenty of big fat mussels to be harvested 10 minutes work and we had our bag limit.
We moved up river to farm the crab paddocks where we loaded the batteries and lights into the patriot and headed out into a stiff easterly but the patriot handled the sharp chop well. It didn’t take long to gather some nice blues that had dalmatinac screaming like a sissy at one stage.

Swan Mussels
Nice rig mate. Must be an awesome sight up on the plane at full noise!
Just wondering about the mussels... Have ya started to grow any extra limbs (or god forbid, an extra head!) from eating mussels from the swan.
Last time I ate mussels out of the swan was over 25 years ago.

You have probably stopped getting them from the river and now from a shop who gets them from Cockburn sound!

Nah Goat, I don't buy them
Nah Goat, I don't buy them from a shop either, they just never taste quite right.
Last lot I've eaten, I collected off the rocks down at Denmark. Best feed of mussels I'd had for ages

Yeah I don't suppose you can
Yeah I don't suppose you can compare the brown water of the river with Denmarks crystal water.
