radio problem

i have a brand new gx300 radion 27meg,did a radio test and it was very poor,they barely could here me and same my end,checked all wiring,arial,turned off sounder gps sterio to see and no diff,anyone have any ideas,, i,m gonna try a new radio on monday..

Turn off the Motor ?
I have found that quite a few 27mhz get interference from engines.

only thing we didnt try,cheers mate.. never had this prob before.. thought maybe coz this is a solid palte rig and theres so much metal around..

More than likely its an
More than likely its an arial issue, make sure it's a 27meg arial not a VHF, I have had problems with arial plug in the past, the ones that push on to seperate the inner core and outer wires. Where were you trying to recieve from?

Mine used to have that problem
I fixed it by running a new power cable to the Radio directly from the aux battery

what sort and size ariel do u have some of those whip ariels arent that good but whack the 9ft navman ariel on a gx 300 and u get heaps of range
