Can't help with a boat mate. But there are plenty of squid off the Hillary's marina walls at the moment.

Gee how many different recipes are there for squid, i like them all ,lol

One of my friends said squids as tough as old gum boots and the boots taste better, thats one less mouth to feed,,LOL

As long as its fresh, squid is great - pretty much anyway you cook it.

Is there a particular time to go squiding?

Just change the jig to suit the light (dark for dark, light for light)

they tend to like calmer seas and have very good sight so use Flurocarbon

Squid are noctural so dawn/dusk/night are best, but if you have a boat in particular you can still catch them during the middle of the day over weed beds where they like to hang out. In the shadows near some illuminated water is good. Professional squid fishers have lights on their boat, and the squid stay in the shadows of the boat. Then they used automated squid jigging machines to jig the squid jigs and pull them in.

Squid seems to be the only thing I can catch often (and not often enough at that)

Just on sunset and sunrise seem the go.

i thought night was the best, because they tend to hang around the lights.  but still catch heaps on boats during day.   i caught my only one, next to hillaries lighthouse and it was a whopper.  

Might take the kids down to Hillaries or mindarie to take a look later this evening.

I think its time to get that skippers tickets and put my cobwebby boat in the drink, more comfort with a boat.

Whats the limit these days is it still 30 a boat ? i think i read something about 20 but i am not 100% at the moment.

where in the sound is the best spot, i love fresh garlic squid but never really caught enough for a main coarse

15 cephlapods (squid, cuttlefish, octopus combined) per person. I'm assuming boat limit is 2 bag limits like it is with most stuff.

Never quite sure where to fish hillarys for squid (only caught them off rocks like north mole, woodman, pt peron). Out the front of AQWA sucks on any weekend nights, its shoulder to shoulder

O.K 15 sounds about right but i will check that website,,i reckon after 10 my yellow Kayak might be a slimy black colour ,lol
