Adam's first drop Baldy
Poor Adam, I told him the rule on my boat is that the first time you go fishing on my boat, you must release your first fish, no matter what it is and how big it is. Now normally I would let the guys do a quick fish for whiting, so the pain of releasing a good fish is minimised, but hey I had Adam on board, so we headed straight to a semi decent spot, which I call "Harley" as we normally catch quite a few Harlequin fish there. Anyway, the look on Adam's face was priceless when a good size Baldy came up first drop and just had to be released to keep the fish gods happy. Turned out it was a good move as Adam put us to shame for the rest of the trip with some good fish. The fish gods obviously smiled on him on what otherwise was a very ordinary bottom bashing day.
Cheers

Wet hands
Wet hands and fingertips only I can assure you.
Adam took his time and brought it up slow. He was very careful with handling the fish and she went down strongly.
Check out the snap back poised and ready to pounce in the background.
Cheers

Hahah
True KC, but I am pretty careful not to get my fingers into the soft stuff. I like holding onto the lower gill plate to secure the fish, he was pretty lively and not co-operating for a photo before release. I also wasn't sure for quite a while if Andy was serious about the release rule, tough stuff!
