JURIEN SHACKS

I've heard of a few people who have been to beach side shacks and seen some around Perth outer metro areas in the past but never the ones a bit further up north around Jurien Bay, until Friday...
A blown up picture, " i have it behind the dunnie door so it reminds me of the good old days" was the comment, and what a picture it was.
A little bay about 14km north of Jurien which the name I can't remember, with about 4-5 shacks nestled together and this one that was partly owned (and council rates divided up, $900 p/a), protected by the SWesterlies, looked like a fisho's heaven!
I heard a couple of envious stories from Big Al's past there and would've loved to have visited there. Now they are all gone and so is the councils rates?
Have YOU been to a shack in the past and what incredible stories do you remember?

Sounds like sandy cape or the shacks just north of Sandy cape , you can camp up there now but most ( all???) have been removed , demolished or bulldozed ( on CALM's orders )

So now they put in a toilet there and make you pay $15 to camp there , it was heaps better when there was NO TOILET and the camping was FREE, now you can't drive on the beach , befor you could and there was no problem from the cars till calm took control and said it was bad for the vehicles to be on the beach .

Yep that's it, Sandy Cape... Just north was Green Heads? This was a little bay with nice clear water and reef and crays and cobbler and huge whiting and....the list goes on and on. One owner actually blew up a little bit of reef so he could moore his boat on the beach! The bloke I know had a hell set up, Engineers you know.... A kerosene fridge, water tank inside just incase, roasting oven and the biggest mistake.... a flushing toilet because we all know that if there's no basic ammenities like that there won't be a woman in sight, usually. (no disrespect to women)
Gone are those days and it's interesting to hear about CALM Flywest. Thanks for your informative comments ATB MAXY
