Well I can see that the spool is smoothe, what ever that does, and the paint job is bling bling, 3 air holes on the spool, Aero wrap written on the side, and one powerball and it's mine.

its new for the freshwater market I reckon. Mg body and composite spool. That was the news a while ago. That tapered spool lip is not good for braid, the braid will just slide off...probably for flourocarbon or hybird lines.

Very similar in looks to the "Viper"...Looks like a short crank...unfortunately too similar to the Viper,though the viper has a counterbalance...

Wonder if its got as good a retrieve as the Viper- 6.2 to 1 .

i'm sorry, a shimano stella really can't be compared to a silstar viper reel

as for the drilled spool design, alot of reels have copied that these days, its the new 'in thing', but stellas have had that for... well years. and for a purpose: the make it lighter, since every gram counts on these things.
