I had a bit of a read up

Tue, 2007-05-01 07:13

I had a bit of a read up last night and i did indeed find this fish in my book! Its common name is "orange perch" and surprising enough is part of the rock cod family with coral trout and the like. It is widely found around new zealand and south australia and is rated as a very sort after fish for taste but doesnt grow much over 40cm. I did however not say they are found in any other areas to date so it might be a very rare catch for WA! The species is usally caught around the depths of 40 to 100 metres and often is caught around snapper grounds and many people in these areas rate them higher quality. I hope this helped as i was very surprised i even found it at all. Did you try and eat it shizz?

Keep it tight, reeeeeeel tight!
